The Romance of Egypt tour is a PRIVATE tour, with your own guide and transportation providing the opportunity to immerse yourself in ancient egypt with guides who have the ability to bring to life over 5000 years of history.

Whether you are celebrating your recent marriage or renewing vows made decades ago this Travel Egypt tour offers a combination of luxury, entertainment and educational experiences in a setting like none other on Earth.

Travel Egypt's Romance of Egypt is an upscale tour featuring luxury 5* hotels with deluxe or superior view rooms and a deluxe 5* Nile cruise with an upper decks, panoramic Nile view cabin.

Egypt tourism should be relaxing. Travel Egypt Egypt tours are fully escorted from your arrival to Cairo, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the experience carefree.

Highlights include visits to the Giza plateau, featuring the Great Pyramid and Sphinx. The Egyptian Museum of antiquities where you will marvel at King Tut's treasures. Temples along the Nile from Aswan to Luxor, the Necropolis of Thebes featuring the Valley of the Kings and the city Alexander the Great founded but Cleopatra made famous. All costs associated with these visits including transportation, entry fees, guide, service charges and taxes are already included in the tour price.

Included meals are giant international buffets with breakfast daily plus ala carte and buffet lunches and dinners while on the cruise.

Sample Tour Outline:

Day 01: (Monday) Arriving clear immigration and customs then staff will transfer you to the Mena House hotel, where you will enjoy a Pyramid view room with private balcony. Overnight Cairo

VISAS: All travelers to Egypt must have a visa. Citizens of most countries can obtain one on arrival. Please let us know what passport you are traveling with and we will confirm whether you can get your’s on arrival.

Day 02: (Tuesday) A full day tour of Memphis, the ancient capital, Sakkarra with it's famous Stepped Pyramid and Dahshur with it's famous Bent and Red Pyramids plus the new Imhotep museum. Overnight Cairo (B)

Day 03: (Wednesday) Tour of the Giza plateau where you will marvel at the seventh wonder of the world, the Great Pyramid. Stare into the face of the inscrutable Sphinx. Overnight Cairo (B)
OPTIONAL Tour: Pyramids sound and light show $40 per person

Day 04: (Thursday) Enjoy a visit to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, featuring King Tut's treasures. Then visit the famous Khan el Khalili bazaar where travelers have been finding bargains since the middle ages. Overnight Cairo (B)

Day 05: (Friday) Depart Cairo by air-conditioned vehicle for Alexandria. The city Alexander the Great built and Cleopatra made famous. Arriving enjoy the comfort of the beautiful Maritim Jolie Ville Hotel right on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. Overnight Alexandria (B)

Day 06: (Saturday) Tour Alexandria including the Greco-Roman sites, the museums and the new world famous library. Return to Cairo in the evening and the comfort of the Fairmont Heliopolis hotel. (B)

Day 07: (Sunday) Staff transfers you to the airport, assists with checking in and you fly to Luxor. Arriving staff transfers you to the Sonesta St. George hotel where you will have a Nile view room. Overnight Luxor (B)
Optional tour: Dendara and Abydos Temples: $120 per person
Optional tour: Sound and Light show at Karnak temple $40 per person

Day 08: (Monday) Buffet breakfast, check out, staff will transfer you to the M/S Amarco or M/S Royal Viking cruise. Lunch on board. Following lunch visit Luxor’s East Bank Temple of Karnak and Temple of Luxor. Return to the ship for dinner. Overnight Luxor (B, L, D)
Optional Tour of West bank sites not included in cruise: $95 per person (includes the Valley of the Queens, the tombs of the nobles and artisans, Medinet Habu, Ramessium, temple of Seti 1)

Day 09: (Tuesday) Breakfast then visit Luxor's West Bank including the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari and the Colossi of Memnon. After touring return to the ship for lunch. Sail to Esna. Dinner on board. Overnight Esna (B, L, D)

Day 10: (Wednesday) Breakfast, sail to Edfu and visit the Temple of Horus. Sail to Kom Ombo. Overnight Kom Ombo (B, L, D)

Day 11: (Thursday) Breakfast then visit the Temple of Kom Ombo. Sail to Aswan. Lunch on board before visiting the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae. Dinner on board. Overnight Aswan (B, L, D)

Day 12: (Friday) Breakfast on board before disembarkation. Staff transfers you to the airport, assists with checking in and you fly to Cairo. Arriving staff transfers you to the Fairmont Heliopolis. Overnight Cairo (B)
NOTE: Optional excursion to Abu Simbel this morning including transfers, flights, private guide, entry fees, service charges and taxes $250 per person

Day 13: (Saturday) Staff will transfer you to the airport, assist with exit formalities and checking in for your international departure.


TOURS INCLUDE: Domestic flights in Egypt in coach (economy) class. All transfers by air-conditioned vehicle relating to the tour program starting with arrival to Cairo. Baggage handling of no more than 1 piece of luggage per person however baggage and personal effects are at the owner's risk at all time during the tour (baggage handling does NOT include tips for bellmen, porters, etc.). Hotels (based on double occupancy). 5 star Deluxe Nile cruise with outside Nile view cabin, private bath, individual climate control. Meals as outlined by B for breakfast, L for lunch and D for dinner. Fees for visiting antiquity sites and museums. Services of an English speaking licensed Egyptologist. Service charges and taxes.
NOTE: During any of our small group tours people may join or leave at various times, however at no time would any group be larger than 16 travelers. We can provide private tours with an additional supplement. The cost depends on the tour chosen.

NOT included are: INTERNATIONAL AIR, Air ticket taxes, fuel surcharges, items of a personal nature such as tips (tipping guideline), entry visa (available at the airport on entry for USA citizens. Other nationalities should check with the nearest Egyptian consulate), phone calls, laundry, beverages, any items not specifically covered in the included items.

All hotels and the cruises have laundry/dry cleaning available.

Laundry in before 9AM is back at 6PM.
Laundry in after 9AM is back the following day.
Rush laundry is generally available at 50% more cost.
Dry cleaning is available with prices about the same as laundry.
Children's clothes are generally 50% of the adult cost.

Beverages

No drinks are included in tour prices. Some hotels and cruises give one bottle of water free daily others do not. As a general guide you could expect to pay:
Bottled water at hotels or on the cruise: $1 to $3 for a small bottle, $2.50-$5 for a large bottle.
NOTE: This is filtered water. If you order perrier it will cost more.
Coffee or Tea: 50 cents
Soft drinks (Coke, Pepsi, etc): $1 each
Alcoholic drinks:
Local beer: $3 per bottle
Imported beer: $5 to $8 per bottle
Wine: local $4 to $6 per glass. imported will be more $$.
Liquor: local $5 per cocktail + cost of mixer (soft drink, juice, etc), imported $8-$15 per cocktail + cost of mixer)
ICE: In the hotels and on the cruise the ice is prepared from filtered water.

Single Price is for Single occupancy hotel rooms and cruise cabins based on a minimum of two travelers. Single travelers (one person on the tour) would have additional cost.

FREQUENT TRAVELERS: You are welcome to arrange your own international air or we can assist if you are departing from the USA. Also if you are a member of any hotel chain frequent traveler program you are welcome to use your points for hotel rooms and the cost of the tour will be reduced accordingly OR if you want to accumulate points plus take advantage of membership hotel room upgrades let us know which program you want to use.
